PROMOTING THE DOMESTIC CHURCH

from Supreme Website - Catholic Information Service

Lord, Teach Us to Pray

To answer the question "What is prayer?,' we must realize that our search leads, not to an activity but to a way of being.  Prayer is less a function and more a disposition.

See the parish website https://htcatholic.org for information for important parish events and scheduling.

Pray for those on our sick and distressed list and for our Church & nation.

As practical Catholic gentlemen we should enthusiastically enter in to all Holy Mother Church offers us. We are blessed to be able to take advantage of the many hours available for confession!

Also, we are blessed to have Eucharistic Adoration available to us at Holy Trinity – please consider a commitment for at least an hour a week.  Contact Silvia at 720-338-2700 or visit HTCatholic.WEAdorehim.com to register - use code 7890.

Notes from Our Leaders

Chaplain – Fr. Carlos Bello-Ayala

Monthly Challenge by Supreme Chaplain Archbishop William E. Lori:

When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at the knees of Jesus and said, “Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.” For astonishment at the catch of fish they had made seized him and all those with him, and likewise James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners of Simon. Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.” (Gospel for Feb. 6, Lk 5:8-10)

Simon Peter recognizes Jesus for who he is and deems himself unworthy to be in his presence. Jesus, in calling the fisherman to follow him, tells him not to fear. Every one of us is a sinner, and yet Jesus calls each of us to follow him. It is not our own virtues or qualifications, but rather Jesus who empowers us with his grace to respond to his invitation. Brothers, remember St. Paul’s words: “I have the strength for everything through him who empowers me” (Phil 4:13).

Challenge by Supreme Chaplain Archbishop William E. Lori:

This month, I challenge you to go to confession and attend at least one weekday Mass, offering it for the intention to fearlessly answer Christ’s call to follow him. Second, I challenge you to participate in or consider starting the Faith in Action Into the Breach program.

Questions for Reflection:

Are you sometimes afraid to follow Christ more closely because you consider yourself too sinful and unworthy? Do you truly believe in and experience Christ’s mercy and seek to forgive yourself as well as others? Do you stay close to the sacrament of penance in order to do battle with your own sinfulness and allow God’s grace to strengthen you for spiritual combat?

Prayer for The United States of America
Composed by His Excellency
Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò

Almighty and Eternal God, King of Kings and Lord of Lords: graciously turn your gaze to us who invoke You with confidence.

Bless us, citizens of the United States of America; grant peace and prosperity to our Nation; illuminate those who govern us so that they may commit themselves to the common good, in respect for Your holy Law.

Protect those who, defending the inviolable principles of the Natural Law and Your Commandments, must face the repeated assaults of the Enemy of the human race.

Keep in the hearts of Your children courage for the truth, love for virtue and perseverance in the midst of trials.

Make our families grow in the example that Our Lord has given us, together with His Most Holy Mother and Saint Joseph in the home of Nazareth; give to our fathers and mothers the gift of Strength, to educate wisely the children with which you have blessed them.

Give courage to those who, in spiritual combat, fight the good fight as soldiers of Christ against the furious forces of the children of darkness.

Keep each one of us, O Lord, in your Most Sacred Heart, and above all He whom Your Providence has placed at the head of our Nation.

Bless the President of the United States of America, so that aware of his responsibility and his duties, he may be a knight of justice, a defender of the oppressed, a firm bulwark against Your enemies, and a proud supporter of the children of light.

Place the United States of America and the whole world under the mantle of the Queen of Victories, our Unconquered Leader in battle, the Immaculate Conception. It is thanks to her, and through your Mercy, that the hymn of praise rises to you, O Lord, from the children whom you have redeemed in the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ.   Amen.
